China Achieves Major Breakthrough in the Field of High-End Pressure Sensors.
2021-01-21
On January 20, the Hunan Daily and the Xin Hunan client reported that Sensor Nobleman Technology had successfully passed the scientific and technological achievement evaluation for its “high-performance nanofilm metal-based pressure sensor.”
Xiang enterprises have successfully developed a “high-performance nanofilm metal-based pressure sensor” with multiple indicators that are internationally leading.
Sensors are extensions of the human senses and serve as “scouts” that enable intelligent systems. Among them, pressure sensors are the most widely used. Today, a scientific and technological achievement evaluation meeting for “High-Performance Nanofilm Metal-Based Pressure Sensors,” organized by the Hunan Provincial Productivity Promotion Center, was held in Liuyang. The evaluation expert committee, chaired by Academician Gui Weihua of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, concluded that the overall technology of this achievement has reached an internationally advanced level; in particular, its performance indicators regarding zero-point drift and operating temperature range have attained an international leading position. This signifies that China has made a major breakthrough in the field of high-end pressure sensors, achieving domestic substitution for yet another “bottleneck” technology and product.
Sensor technology, communication technology, and computer technology are known as the three pillars of modern information technology and the foundation of the Internet of Things. Their applications span across various sectors of the national economy. In modern control systems, sensors represent the sole means of acquiring data and information; they directly influence and determine the system’s functionality and performance, and are thus often referred to as the very source of the deep integration between informatization and industrialization. After years of development, China’s sensor industry has established a relatively complete industrial system and technological innovation framework. However, compared with developed countries, there still remain certain gaps—particularly in the area of high-end pressure sensors, where we have long been dependent on foreign suppliers.

Sensor Nobleman Technology Co., Ltd. has brought together researchers from multiple fields and disciplines to tackle the challenge of developing “high-performance nano-film metal-based pressure sensors.” After more than three years of intensive effort, the company has successfully developed a new generation of high-end pressure sensors that boast completely independent intellectual property rights. These sensors exhibit outstanding performance in key metrics such as overall accuracy and thermal zero-point drift, and can operate reliably under extreme conditions—specifically, at ultra-high pressures up to 200 MPa and ultra-high temperatures ranging from -196°C to 400°C—while maintaining high performance. The company has obtained 62 national patents for this technology. Currently, these sensors have been successfully integrated into numerous critical pieces of equipment and are being used in various devices across petrochemical, metallurgical, transportation, and IoT-related enterprises and institutions, effectively replacing many foreign products.
The head of Sensor Nobleman Technology Co., Ltd. told reporters that the company aims, through three to five years of effort and an investment of 6 billion yuan, to build a high-performance intelligent sensor industrial park in China and establish the Hunan base for high-pressure common-rail sensors. The goal is to achieve an annual output value of 10 billion yuan, with annual profits and tax revenues reaching 5.5 billion yuan. At the same time, the project will drive the development of related supporting industries worth another 30 billion yuan, making a positive contribution to Hunan’s economic development and the “domesticization” of China’s sensor industry.
