Sensors are extensions of the human senses and serve as the “scouts” that enable intelligent technologies. Among them, pressure sensors are the most widely used. On January 20, a scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting for “High-Performance Nanofilm Metal-Based Pressure Sensors,” organized by the Hunan Provincial Productivity Promotion Center, was held in Liuyang. The appraisal expert committee, chaired by Academician Gui Weihua of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, concluded that the overall technology of this achievement has reached an internationally advanced level; in particular, its performance indicators regarding zero-point drift and operating temperature range have attained an international leading position. This signifies that China has made a major breakthrough in the field of high-end pressure sensors, achieving domestic substitution for yet another “bottleneck” technology and product.
